    Lavinia Borcau Skin Care
    Brookline, MA
    by DahliaLilly
    on Jun 1, 2009 @ 11:42 am

I went to Lavinia's for a facial to clear up my acne before my college graduation. When I went in for my appointment, the front desk girl said Lavinia was running a few minutes late, but she was very sweet and apologetic. Lavinia's facials are worth the wait though, and fantastic! She is very professional and thorough, and not at all shy about extraction, which is important to me. I could tell she is a real expert, and she also has a great bubbly personality. There might be cheaper facials out there, but going to Lavinia made me feel assured I was in good hands - for my graduation, I was glowing and almost acne-free! Bonus: Lavinia's product line feels so decadent and has this great citrusy scent...I'll be saving up for that face cream! read more >>

    Sherborn Day Spa
    Sherborn, MA
    by Lea N.
    on May 31, 2009 @ 7:46 pm

I was desperately in need of a theraputic massage for recently diagnosed TMJ and severe migrane headaches from work stress. I found the Sherborn Day Spa and recently completed 6 weeks of once a week 1 1/2 hour deep tissue massages with Kelly Love. The results are incredible ! My headaches have stopped and my dentist told me my TMJ symptons have greatly improved. The Sherborn day Spa is clean, elegant and the massage rooms are comfortable, with warm tables, comforting music- water sounds and spa shower available after the massage if preferred. Kelly is a fantastic massage therapist with strong fingers and an excellent technique. I highly recommend you ask for her. She is professional and really works on the areas you need most. I can't say enough about how much her massages have made a huge difference in my life. I hope to continue as long as I can afford to. They do offer a 10 % discount if you book 4 appointments in advance, which is worth doing if you are going to do more than one massage. Give Kelly a try- you won't be disappointed. read more >>

    Lavinia Borcau Skin Care
    Brookline, MA

I have been to Lavinia Borcau's skin care salon before for their organic facial, which was just as heavenly. I also have Lavinia's Serum and facial wash that I use in the meantime. When I went back for an organic peel, I was well-prepped by Lavinia about what the experience would be like and what to expect, but you really can't put too many words to how enjoyable the experience was. My skin was radiant! I had an after glow for about 3 days, and I'm not someone who is very hyperbolic, so I have no need to fabricate this experience. After that, I promised my mom and sister that I would treat them. For an all upscale natural, organic peel or facial, the prices are doable and well worth it! read more >>

The Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa
    Sandwich Village, MA
    by CapeGal
    on May 25, 2009 @ 5:48 pm

1.May 25th, 20095:37 pmWe purchased: A Suite Deal Package Guests Included: 2 Adults. Pampering, chocolate and thou! (this was their title- didn't live up to the expectation at all.) Based on their site and the fact that I had been there before for Brunch in the beautiful conservatory as well as had a treatment at the spa in the past, The Inn was my #1 choice. When I called to book my reservation, I chatted at length with the gal, mentioning that it was my girlfriends birthday and that she would be arriving early - around 3pm and I would not get there until after work at 6pm. I even spelled my girlfriends name for the reservation. Upon arrival she was not able to get into the room as they did not have her name anywhere on the reservation- an email was sent to my home as well as a phone call was made to my cell. However I was unable to take the call because I was at work. Finally she was able to check in after my phone call-There were 3 girls behind the desk who watched my friend struggle with her luggage up the stairs without ever asking if she needed help - she then went to the spa to get a mani-pedi and was a bit undone about how she was "not welcomed" to the Inn and requested a pinot noir (red wine) while she had her pedicure. The wine came and it was a chardonnay (white wine). There was no offer to comp it or replace it, just an appology when they realized they brought the wrong wine. The manicure was botched - even after 6 hours of drying time she woke up with sheet marks on every nail - obviously too thick of a top coat. When I arrived at 6pm and was told where the room was - I looked at the stairs and asked where the elevator was-no elevator. I did ask for someone to come and help me with my bags and I was assisted. It was not however offered -I had to ask. I was also never told that the room was on the second floor or asked if that might be an issue - I had broken my ankle 9 months ago and while I can walk now - I still have an issue with stairs... Having dinner was the highlight of the stay -top notch restaurant experience. We found the room satisfactory - certainly clean and the sheets were very nice. The pillows however were hard as rocks and I found the bath tub to be very small. We checked out and were again disappointed that nothing was done about the bill or even brought up. Total cost for our package was $484 -this was for a nice (but no frills room with 2 double beds) we also spent another $142 for diner and brunch in the morning was another $74) so our stay overnight came to a total of $652 ) and while brunch was available - the conservatory had a special function and we would have to be seated in the tavern. At booking there was no mention of this, nor was it suggested that I make a reservation - luckily they fit us into the tavern. Our spa experience on Sunday was 5 star- the massages were just what we needed. We found the Inn to be less then acceptable for accommodation. - Anonymous read more >>

    Exhale
    Boston, MA
    by ksemmes
    on May 18, 2009 @ 9:34 am

I've had several treatments at Exhale - facials are ALWAYS exceptional and well worth the money. Everything else is hit or miss - not so much because the technique has been poor, but rather because the technician WOULD NOT STOP TALKING. This has been the case with both massage and mani/pedi. read more >>
