The Epicuren Metadermabolic Facial - Our signature facial treatment
This facial begins with a thorough deep pore cleansing after steam is applied. A two hour initial consultation provides Dr. Heskett with in depth knowledge of your unique health concerns, personal and family health history, dietary patterns, lifestyle and daily stressors. When indicated, a physical exam, lab testing is then performed and referrals are made. With this information, Dr. Heskett develops a Comprehensive Wellness Plan ( your personal pathway)based on your concerns, lifestyle and health beliefs that is practical and applicable within your current lifestyle that will help you achieve your goals of total wellbeing. This is reviewed at a follow up one hour visit one week later and together, you and Dr. Heskett decide what recommendations will be implemented. As a mother of two I have experienced pregnancy and realize the dramatic changes this period can bring to one's physical and mental well being. At Wellpath, we offer mother's, and mother's-to-be special services developed to nurture and support them through the prenatal and postnatal months.

Dr. Heskett has delivered hundreds of babies in her career, and although she no longer actively practices obstetrics, she continues to provide supportive care for women at this stage of their lives. Women who are pregnant or nursing have special needs, and often cannot take prescription or over the counter medicines. Homeopathy is a wonderfully effective and safe way to treat many problems during pregnancy and while nursing, because it does not pose any risk to the mother or the baby. Prenatal Massage
Our expert massage therapists use a specially designed, adjustable pregnancy support system on our massage tables that allow a pregnant woman to lie on her stomach comfortably through her 40th week. Dr. Heskett provides consultation for every pregnant woman needing massage, and works closely with each therapist to best address each woman's needs. Regular massage throughout pregnancy, is highly beneficial for both mom and growing baby in a multitude of ways. In the latter half of pregnancy, if the woman desires, the baby can be massaged as part of the treatment, and or special headsets can be placed on the belly for the baby to listen to music.

Infant Massage
Learn one on one or in a group of new mothers (or fathers / care providers) how to provide the benefits of massage to your newborn child. Doula Service
Dr. Heskett and Bryna McCann have developed a Doula support program to help women through their pregnancy, labor, delivery and post partum period. Monthly support visits during the pregnancy, on-call 24 hour support through labor and delivery, and six weekly home visits post partum extending support through the newborn period. Women participating in the program will also receive 20% off any additional services taken during the prenatal and postnatal period.

Massage Therapy

Epicuren Microdermabrasion Body Scrub

STRESS MANAGEMENT

How you see things will determine how you deal with them. There are always people and events in our lives that we cannot control. A mind body-body approach with lasting results. Modeled on the Stress Reduction Clinic of the University of Massachussetts Medical Center, this program is beneficial to persons with migraine headaches, insomnia, chronic pain, gastro-intestinal symptoms, high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Bernice Todres has been a pioneer in mind-body medicine for more than 20 years. She has a background as a Physiologist engaged in medical research at the University of Cape Town South Africa and Hammersmith Hospital in London. As a Psychologist she worked with Carl Rogers in New York, Boston, and Cape Cod. Well-Balanced Pilates is run by Stephanie Bishop. Stephanie received her certification in 2000 under the instruction of Peter Roel, Phoebe Higgins, Susan Moran and Howard Sichel, through a rigorous 600 hour program. She is also certified in IM=X Pilates and is an ACE certified personal trainer. Steph has been teaching Pilates for over 5 years in the New York area, and was formerly a professional dancer with a BFA in Musical Theater from SUNY Fredonia. Who was Joseph H. Pilates?
Joseph Pilates was born in 1880 in Dusseldorf, Germany. He was a frail, sickly child who would later devote his life to the development and conditioning of his own body. His efforts resulted in the creation of Contrology, the original name he gave his method. His new Method would be a combination of yoga, tai chi, and boxing among other influences. Before moving to England in 1912, he had grown to be an accomplished athlete. During the war, Pilates used his Method to rehabilitate injured soldiers. He creatively attached springs and straps to the hospital beds of his bedridden patients. This was the very beginning of his first invention, the Universal Reformer, one of 9 pieces of apparatus he would later develop. Pilates then relocated to New York City and opened the first "Contrology" studio in 1923. Over the past 8 decades his method has received international recognition from health, dance, and sports professionals.

What is the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning?
The Pilates Method is a progressive exercise system focused on core strength and stability. Each exercise is performed with an emphasis on proper breathing, alignment, flexibility and coordination thus developing an improved mind/body connection for the student. A typical 55 minute session consists of a certified instructor guiding the student through a series of exercises on various pieces of equipment (mat, Reformer, Cadillac, chairs, barrels, etc.) Utililzing the method’s unique spring resistance one can strengthen and lengthen the entire body.
