Kalista Salon & Day Spa is dedicated to giving Portland a wellness experience that blends exceptional talent with organic, cruelty-free products. From our laundry detergents to our hand soaps, Kalista Salon & Spa prides itself on being an eco-responsible business.It is important to us that, to the absolute greatest extent possible, every single product we use is environmentally friendly. WE DO NOT HAVE ONE ITEM IN OUR SPA TESTED ON ANIMALS. So this is tricky, the ingredients of some products are tested on animals and the final products are not. WE go to great lengths to make sure the ingredients ARE NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS! We are also members of the ACLU for racial discrimination and we protest it! Our staff is a melting pot of people and everyone of every race, religion and nationality is welcome to work for us and visit us!!!!! We do two things with the hair that we cut, we recycle all our hair clipping to make hair matts that soak up oil spills in the ocean, and donate all the long hair we cut to locks for love for children with cancer. But we care about more than just the environment: seven days a week, we offer our clients--besides the style and comfort for which we are known--laughter, hospitality, and a sense of friendship. No, we are definitely NOT your average salon and spa! One step into Kalista and you'll find your second home, a place where you are appreciated not just for why you came, but for who you are. Our staff and clientele, representative of the part of Portland that we call home, are both incredibly colorful and diverse--and that's how we like it!
